Foam rubber is all about density and hardness.
Density refer to the weight of foa per cubic metre. This is the most important measure when looking at foam quality. The denser the foam, the more foam per cubic metre for comfort and support, or, in another saying the longer lifespan.
Hardness is the measure of how the foam feels, not a measure of quality.
Take foam grade 23/130 for example. "23" means the cubic metre weight of this foam, which is a medium density. "130" indicates a nominal hardness of 130 Newtons, when tested to Australian Standard AS2282.
